Driven For Him’s mission is to facilitate educational programming in historically marginalized communities to support young people in becoming historically grounded visionaries and innovators committed to improving the condition of humanity.

We use film and photography as a vehicle for young people to explore critical history and to learn the fundamentals of narrative structure. Young people will engage in visual storytelling to tell their own stories, their family history, or communal stories. At the same time learn technical skills in the creative arts, the curriculum will enhance their civic and historical knowledge to support their personal and professional development.

In this class, we will be learning the History of Black Filmmakers & Cinema from the lens of the Pioneer in “silent films & race pictures,” Oscar Micheaux.
